In the winter most plants die to the ground or turn to twigs and bare branches. We lose interest in our gardens as winter’s wrath takes over and plants, almost willingly, fade to the background.
Then come the first few warm days of spring and sprouts emerge. Vibrant buds appear on the trees. Abounding green life takes over our consciousness. Foliage and flowers that to newcomers’ eyes should take years to form, emerge and triple in size within mere months. It’s incredible, isn’t it?
In this blog, I plan to share my experiences and knowledge as a landscape designer. In addition to hopefully “demystify-ing” gardening, I want to share my travels to inspirational garden spaces, address common landscaping issues, interview experts in the field, and look at some of the beauty just beneath our nose (or feet!).
I will also share easy DIY projects for your home, landscaping know-how, inspiring images and stories, and a gardening to-do calendar. A lot of clients have told me that they have a “black thumb,” but with the proper tools, the right information, and a friendly garden center, your garden can become your place of solace and inspiration, like mine is to me.
